I received this vintage Davis Sewing Machine as a Christmas present and I love it!! (Good job, Lucas and Kyra!)

After doing some research, this is what I know:
- It is a New High Arm Davis vertical feed treadle sewing machine
- Based on the serial number, made between 1915-1920
- The Davis Company started production in Watertown, NY in 1869. They later moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1889. They manufactured sewing machines until 1924.
- In a vertical feed machine, there are no feed dogs under the fabric to move it along. Instead, the entire needle assembly moves in a vertical circular motion, moving the fabric forward with each stitch.
All of the parts move freely and if the belt was attached I could sew with it now. But first I am researching how to clean each part, etc. Also, I need to decide how I want to refinish the cabinet. It could be a while till you see the before and after!
Let me know in the comments if you have any suggestions for refinishing the cabinet!
